Mrs V's Restaurant in Round Lake Beach offers a straightforward, no-frills family dining experience centered on hearty American breakfast and comfort food classics. Located right on E Rollins Rd, this place carries the feel of a traditional Midwestern family restaurant where locals stop by for reliable, satisfying meals throughout the week.

The restaurant’s vibe is laid-back and practical, with a somewhat cozy interior that can feel a bit cramped at times, especially in the booths. It’s the kind of spot where the focus is on getting you seated quickly and delivering your food promptly, which makes it well suited for early morning breakfasts or a casual weekend brunch with family or friends. Service tends to be friendly and efficient, with coffee arriving almost immediately after seating.

Menu-wise, Mrs V’s leans heavily on classic American breakfast favorites, offering a broad selection that ranges from popular omelettes—like the Denver or Spanish varieties—to different takes on French toast and pancakes. The hash stack serves as a sampler of all the breakfast basics, ideal for those wanting to sample a bit of everything without fuss. Other offerings like country skillet, eggs benedict, and their steaked-up breakfast plates provide enough variety to appeal to both traditionalists and those looking to satisfy a solid appetite.

The atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious, resonating with locals who appreciate old-school diner charm and dependable service. Prices are reasonable, making it a practical choice for families, early risers, or anyone craving a homestyle breakfast that goes beyond quick grab-and-go options. Soup lovers might appreciate the homemade touch noted by patrons, while those who enjoy small touches like a cake and pie display will find some simple dessert options to round out the meal.

Given its steady local patronage and quick seating, Mrs V's works well during weekdays for a dependable breakfast stop, especially before heading to work or around weekend mornings when families are out and about. The overall experience reflects a Midwest sensibility—comfort-driven, service-focused, and reliably filling without aiming for anything flashy. If you’re looking for a genuine family restaurant vibe where you can enjoy breakfast classics without fuss, Mrs V's fits the bill.

Food is not bad. Has a large menu for everything you can find usually in a family restaurant. We liked their soups. The booth is a tiny little tight for 4 people.

Very reliable. Always seated, no matter how busy they are. These folks know how to provide service. Old school service and great food. Family restaurant. ENJOY!

What more can I say: great breakfast, great service, great prices! I went during a weekday and got the hash stack. Talk about a great sampler of all the awesome breakfast staples they have. It also came hot and quick. Coming from the West Coast, this place definitely has a Midwest charm I loved. I can't believe I've actually done fast food breakfast down the road over here. I can't wait to go back and try more on the menu!

Service was incredibly quick. We received our coffee within seconds of us sitting down at the tables. The food overall was really tasty. Hash browns were a little bland but salt and pepper is on the table so you can get it to the saltiness each person wants. The gravy on the country fried steak was one of the best gravies I have ever had. I now have to come back to have their biscuits and gravy to enjoy more of it. My wife had a shortstack plate with strawberries. She was concerned it would be overly sweet, it wasn't which is great. Definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Lived in RL from May '89-Nov '02 and live out in Beach Park now. This past Feb. marked the very 1st time dining here since it used to be Blue Bay when I dined in last. Yes, 20+ years it's been. Pretty much the same type of menu with a good ol' fashioned breakfast which is something I always look forward to when dining in a traditional American family restaurant. Good food at reasonable prices despite the climbing food supply cost and increased minimum wage, relatively spacious setting with a dining area that is kept clean/sanitized. Service is top notch and I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right but our server Tori was superb and very attentive, easily a reason to come back soon.

Went there for late breakfast and it was an absolute classic American restaurant. Nikki was a fantastic server, highly recommend. Quick, attentive and down to business. Now the place does feel like it hasn’t been touched for a long time, so as long as you expect a little back in time, this place is great. Only cons was no espresso machine, so no lattes or cappuccinos, which is a biggie for me. Otherwise great
